Session 1: June 23-June 26 Junior Scientists Age: 4.5-7 Time: 9 AM-12 PM Campers will practice thinking like scientists by participating in hands-on experiments that help develop observation and critical thinking skills. Campers will learn to use their scientist eyes, ears, and brains as they hypothesize and conduct experiments. Experiments will include creating concoctions, exploring Earth's creatures and developing and testing a variety of things that go. Experiments will include basic chemistry, physics, and more! Cost: $120 Creepy Creatures Age: 4.5-7 Time: 1-4 PM Don't get creeped out by snakes, worms, spiders, and bats! These creatures are really fascinating and fun. Campers will imagine what it's like to be a creepy creature as they investigate what their lives are like. Also campers will discover how these members of the animal world are actually helpful to us and the environment. This camp will include a special visit from a local reptile expert. Cost: $120 Session 2: July 7-10 Flying Things Age: 4.5-10 (siblings encouraged) Time: 9-12 PM Campers will participate in a variety of hands on experiments designed to help them develop an understanding of basic concepts of flight including lift, drag, thrust, and gravity. Campers will experience these concepts as they construct: kites, pinwheels, parachutes, balloon racers, soda bottle rockets, and more! Cost: $120 Crazy about Building Age: 8-11 Time: 1-4 PM Your junior builders will try out a variety of materials and create unique designs as they explore the world of structures. Campers will enjoy developing blue prints and constructing towers, bridges, and more. A variety of architectural concepts will be explored including scale, 3-D shapes, materials, texture, and structure. Cost: $120
Age: 4.5-10 (siblings encouraged) Time: 9-12 PM Campers will participate in a variety of hands on experiments designed to help them develop an understanding of basic concepts of flight including lift, drag, thrust, and gravity. Age: 7-9 Time: 1-4 PM Campers will participate in a variety of crime-solving, case-breaking activities. Campers will use observation, critical thinking, creativity, analysis, and other problem solving skills to investigate "crimes". They will practice using chemistry and biology to examine a simple crime scene to solve the case of the missing toy. Cost: $120 |
